PM confident to win in next polls

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday expressed firm optimism to win in the next election and said that that BNP won't get vote in the polls.

"We're are confident that we'll be reelected in the next Jatiya Sangsad polls for the work that we did for the people," she told a meeting of the AL Parliamentary Party (ALPP) at the treasury bench room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here last night .

The prime minister added: "Those who burnt the people to death in the name of movement won't get votes."

Issuing a strong warning against the intra-party feud, the AL president said: "We don't want to listen to negative comments against each other."

Mentioning that nomination will be given to the popular candidates on the basis of surveys, she said surveys are being conducted after every six months.

"Candidates with transparent image will be picked for nomination and everybody will have to work for them," she said.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Whip Atiur Rahman Atik, Shamim Osman, Abdur Rahman Badi, and Anupom Shahjahan, among others, spoke at the meeting that lasted over one and a half hours.
