DB police held with 1,000 Yaba pills

Police arrested a member of Detective Branch (DB) of police along with 1,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Moizzartek area in the port city on Tuesday evening.

The detainee is Anwar Hossian, 35, an assistant sub-inspector of district Detective Branch of police,

Karnaphuli Police Station officer-in-charge Sayedul Mostafa said based on secret information a team of Chittagong Metropolitan DB police conducted a drive here and detained Anwar along with a private car.

Later, DB police seized 1,000 pieces of contraband tablets from his possession and handed him over to the police station.

A case was filed.
