Two Yaba peddlers held in Chapainawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in separate drives arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 3,170 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth of Tk 9 lakh from Sadar and Shibganj upazilas of the district on Wednesday.

The arrestees were identified as Mostafizur Rahman Dollar, 46, son of Habibur Rahman of Ghorpakhia Jhillipara village in Sadar upazila and Kamal Mandal, 40, son of Abul Hossain of Uttar Ujirpur village in Shibganj upazila.

On secret information, a team of Rab-5 led by Squadron Leader Mohammad Syed Abdullah Al-Murad, commander of Chapainawabganj camp, conducted a drive in Ghorpakhia Jhillipara area around 7 pm and arrested Mostafizur Rahman Dollar along with 1,765 pieces of Yaba pills.

Earlier, the team conducted another drive at a brick kiln adjacent to Boglauri Ghat area in Shibganj upazila around 4 pm and arrested Kamal Mandal along with 1,045 pieces of Yaba tablets.
