Woman held with 3,000 yaba tablets at Kamalapur

Police this morning arrested a woman along with 3,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets worth about Taka 15 lakh from the Kamalapur Railway Station in the city. 

"We arrested a woman and seized 3,000 yaba tablets from her possession from platform number 7 at Kamalapur Railway Station around 9.15 this morning," officer-in-charge Abdul Majid of Kamalapur Railway Police Station told BSS. 

The arrestee, Nazma Begum, 27, of Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong district, came from Chittagong by Chattala Express, he said, adding that Nazma is a carrier and she brought eight consignments of yaba tablets to Dhaka from Chittagong in the last couple of months.

"We produced Nazma to a court seeking three days remand," he added. 

A case was lodged to this end.
