Education minister’s PO goes ‘missing’

The education minister’s personal officer has gone “missing” from Dhaka in what is the second such “disappearance” of an education ministry staff.

Md Motaleb Hossain, the personal officer of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, was allegedly picked up by some men yesterday afternoon from Basila.

Motaleb’s brother, Shahbuddin filed a missing diary in this connection with Hazaribagh Police Station last night, said Mir Alimuzzaman, officer- in-charge of the station.

Some men came to the construction site and asked Motaleb to visit their office. They forced him into the microbus and fled the scene, the OC said quoting the victim’s family.

“We are trying to trace him,” the police official added.

Another official of the education ministry, Nasiruddin, an upper division assistant and a resident of Khilkhet in Dhaka city, has remained “missing” Thursday.
