Dhaka JMB ameer among four held

RAB has detained four suspected militants, including the Dhaka ameer of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, from Khilgaon and Kamalapur areas in the capital.

Of the detainees, Md Abdul Baten alias Khairul Islam alias Mamunul Hoque was identified as the ameer of Dhaka JMB.

The four were detained in a night-long operation conducted from Wednesday night till Thursday morning.

“We detained them as they were preparing to carry out subversive acts,” said ASP Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, assistant director of RAB media and legal wing.

RAB also seized a pistol, bullets, explosives and Jihadi books from the possession of the four men.

Mizanur said details of the detainees would be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day.
