Two arrested with arms, ammo in Chapainawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Tuesday arrested two people along with two firearms and nine bullets from the bus stand area in the district town.
The arrestees were identified as Abu Syed Sabuj, 24, son of Gazlur Rahman of Namatola village in Shibganj upazila and Akkas Ali, 45, son of Shaheb Ali of Morolganj village in Bagerhat district.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-5 conducted a drive in the area around 9:30 am and arrested them along with two pistols, nine bullets and four magazines, said Squadron Leader Syed Abdullah, commander of Rab-5.
The elite force also recovered some international currency from their possession.
