Dhaka submits observations at ICC over Rohingya investigation

Bangladesh has submitted its observations at the International Criminal Court in response to the court seeking evidence and observations to determine if it has jurisdiction to open an investigation into the expulsion of minority Rohingyas from Myanmar.

According to the embassy in Hague, Sheikh Mohammed Belal, Bangladesh ambassador to the Netherlands, handed over the papers to the registrar of ICC Peter Lewis on Monday.

The observations in the form of a statement have been submitted on the last date as stipulated by the court.

The hearing will be held in the ICC pre-Judicial Court on June 20. ICC Chief Counsel Fatou Bensouda will be present at the hearing in the closed door.
