PM opens ground stations of Bangabandhu Satellite

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday inaugurated two ground stations connected to country's first satellite Bangabandhu Satellite-1. 

The Prime Minister inaugurated the main station in Gazipur's Telipara and the alternative one at Rangamati's Betbunia through a video conference from Dhaka’s Bangabandhu International Conference Center.

Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, Gazipur District Commissioner, confirmed the information to Daily Bangladesh.

It is known that MP from Gazipur and concerned officials were present at the inauguration ceremony at Gazipur Ground Station. At this time, they spoke to the Prime Minister through the video conference. At the same time, the alternative Ground Station at Rangamati's Betbunia was inaugurated. 

Ground station project director Mesbahuzzaman said if everything is okay, the satellite will start commercially from September.
