Political unity has been forged in the light of time and reality: Quader

Awami League presidium member and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said here today that the political unity in the 14-party alliance had been forged in the light of reality of the present time.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hasn't forgotten history....We have been pursuing politics standing upon history in the light of reality of present time and the political unity (in the 14-party alliance) had been forged for the greater need of time and practicality," he said. 

The minister said this while talking to reporters on the recent comment of Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam regarding JSD. 

Quader said, "Remarks of anybody, whoever he/she might be, in this regard were completely of his/her personal comments."

Narrating on different steps taken by his ministry to lessen the sufferings of the home-bound people on the ensuing Eid-ul-Fitre, the minister said, "Along with police squads, a total of 10,000 Rover Scouts would be deployed throughout the country to avoid traffic jams. Besides, mobile toilet facilities would be provided to child, elderly people and women passengers during their journey to their ancestral homes on the eve of Eid festival." 

Earlier, the minister paid a visit to the rehabilitation work of the Savar-Singair Connecting Road at Tentuljhora Union Parishad (UP). Newly elected chairman of Tentuljhora UP Fakhrul Alam Samar and senior officers of Roads and Highways Department were present, among others.
