2-youth to die for killing friend in Gazipur

A court here today sentenced two youths to death for killing their friend in Kaliakoir upazila of the district in 2015.

The court also fined them Taka 10,000 each. District and Sessions Judge AKM Enamul Haque pronounced the verdict.

According to court officials the convicts are M Parvej, 23, son of Riaz Uddin and Amit Hasan, 21, son of Amjad Hossain, residents of Chhoto Latifpur village of the upazila.

The prosecution story, in brief, is that the convicted persons stabbed their friend Masud over playing card on September 26, last year.

Later, Masud succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on the same day.

After the incident, victim's father Nurul Islam filed a murder case with Kaliakoir Thana against the duo. 

Assistant-sub-inspector (ASI) of the thana Sahidul Alam, also investigation officer of the case, after investigation submitted charge-sheet with the court against them. 

Later, the judge examining 10 witnesses and relevant evidences announced the judgment in presence of them.
