At least 15 people were injured during a clash between readymade garments workers and law enforcers in Narayanganj’s Export Processing Zone (EPZ) this morning.

Law enforcers lobbed tear gas canisters on the agitating workers who set a lorry on fire and vandalised other vehicles.

The workers were agitating for due arrears and salary since 7:00am this morning, Jahidul Islam, superintendent of police of the Narayanganj Industrial Police-4, said.

The situation turned violent after the garments workers and police stood in a standoff. Last reported, the situation was still tense around the area.
