Bullet-hit body found along C’nawabganj border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a the bullet-hit body of a man from a mango orchard along Chowka border in Shibganj upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Jem, 30, son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Parchouka village.

Locals said that members of Border Security Force of India (BSF) opened fire on a group of cattle traders when they went to the bordering area for bringing cattle at night, leaving Jem critically injured.

The injured died while fleeing with the group.

On information, BGB members recovered the body from the area, said Lt Col Sajjad Sarwar, commanding officer of BGB-53 battalion adding that it is not still clear whether Jem was killed in BSF firing.
