UPDF leader killed in Khagrachari

A member of United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF-Democratic faction), a Chittagong Hill Tracts-based political organisation, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari early today.

The victim was identified as Sukendra Chakma, 35, a resident of Baradam village of the upazila.

A group of the unidentified criminals attacked the house of Sukendra during the wee hours and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Mobarak Hossain, sub-inspector of Dighinala Police Station, confirmed the incident.
