AL manifesto promises social safety net coverage to double

The ruling Awami League's election manifesto has made a promise to double the number of people under the social security coverage in the next five years.

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina who unveiled the manifesto today also said if the party is voted back into power, they will also increase the amount of government pension given to people.

The manifesto also promised to bring down poverty to 12.3 percent and ultra-poor to five percent.
