30 gold bars seized from Dhaka Airport

Customs officials on Monday afternoon seized a total of 30 gold bars worth around Tk 1,75,00,000 (1 crore 75 lakhs, or 17.5 million) from an aircraft at Shahjalal International Airport.
Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director (CIID) Dr Shahidul Islam said the gold bars, weighing a combined 3.48 kilograms, were concealed under a seat of Emirates Airlines flight EK-586 that arrived here from Dubai around 5:10 am.
