Juba League leader shot dead in city

A Juba League leader was gunned down in Sutrapur area in the old city last night.
The deceased was identified as Rajib Hasan, 38, deputy finance secretary of Dhaka South Juba League, son of Nur-e-Helal, a resident of 2/1 Rokonpur Kaltabazar under Sutrapur Police Station.
A gang of criminals shot indiscriminately Rajib at Rokonpur 3 no lane, Dholaikhal under Sutrapur Police Station around 12:00pm, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sutrapur Police Station Tapan Kumar told BSS this morning.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 1am where the on-duty physicians declared him dead, the OC also said.
The cause behind the murder could not be known immediately, he said adding that investigation into the matter has already been initiated.
Filing of a case to this end is underway.
