Law Minister Anisul Huq today said that Jatiya Oikyafront’s demand for holding a re-election is unconstitutional and illogical.

“Oikyafront’s demand is an expression of disrespect to the people,” the minister said while talking to reporters after attending a farewell programme in Dhaka.

The programme was organised for National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) director Zafrul Hasan in Bailey Road area around 2:00pm.

The law minister said “the Oikyafront has no right to dishonour the people as they have cast their vote in December 30 general election.”

Replying to a question Anisul Huq also said that, Hefajat-e-Islam Chief Ahmad Safi’s comment about the girls’ education is opposite to the positive development of the country.

“Ahmad Safi is an aged person and his comment is his personal opinion. But he should withdraw his comment,” the law minister said adding that the present government is committed to uphold the rights of women.
