Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 22 Rohingya people in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar early today when they were waiting for a trawler to go to Malaysia through the Bay of Bengal.

They were rescued from Khurermukh of Shah Porir Dwip around 3:00am, said Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-2).

The rescued Rohingyas included 10 women, 11 children and one man who took shelter to the refugee camps in Kutupalong and Balukhali.

On information, the BGB team rushed to the spot and rescued the Rohingyas. But none of the traffickers were arrested during the drive, the BGB official said.
