Urging all concerned, including the administration, to work impartially so that the upcoming upazila parishad elections are not questionable, Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam on Tuesday warned of action if there is any deviation.

“Actions will be taken against those involved in election duties if public security is disturbed and the law is violated,” he said while addressing a training session for presiding, assisting presiding and polling officers of the upazila parishad polls at Singra Damdama Pilot School and College.

The election commissioner asked the officials to make sure so that no genuine voter is barred from casting vote. He even directed them to suspend voting, if necessary.

Deputy Commissioner M Shah Reaz, Superintendent of Police Saifullah Al Mamun, Regional Election Officer Faridul Islam and Retuning Officer Razzaqul Islam were present at the programme with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shusanta Kumar Mahtab in the chair.
