6 gold bars seized at Chattogram airport

Customs officials recovered six gold bars, weighing 60 tolas, from the rectum a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city Saturday.
Jamal Uddin, who arrived here by a flight (G 9-526) of Air Arabia around 9:30am, was detained on suspicion, said Noor Uddin Milon, assistant commissioner of Chattogram Customs House.
Later, an X-ray was done on him at a private diagnostic center which detected metals hidden in his rectum.
The gold bars worth around TK 24 lakhs was recovered in presence of officials concerned, the customs official added.
