Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have detained over 100 people including 12 women during an anti-narcotics drive in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka.
The detention was made during a five-hour drive at Geneva camp of the area since 5:30am, Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of Rab’s legal and media wing, said at a press briefing this morning.
The Rab members also seized a huge amount of yaba tablets and phensidyl from there, the Rab official said.
"Previously we conducted many drives and arrested a number of drug peddlers from here but they start drug trading again after securing bail,” he said.
Around 400 members of the Rab conducted the raid.
