22kg gold seized at Chattogram airport

Smuggled gold weighing around 22 kilograms was found at a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Chattogram airport this morning.
It was found in a toilet of the flight that came in from Abu Dhabi around 6:05am, said Prijush Kanti Nath, assistant revenue officer of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID).
While conducting routine cleaning and maintenance of the plane, around 200 pieces of gold were found inside a toilet around 7:00am, he said.
The value of the gold has been estimated to be around Tk 10 crore, he added.
