One held with gold worth Tk 5 crore at Ctg airport

Customs officials on Tuesday recovered 69 gold bars, weighing around 11.2 kilograms, from inside a luggage at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

According to media report, a man named Didarul Islam, hailing from Raozan upazila in Chattogram, was arrested in connection with the incident.

The value of the seized gold was estimated at around Tk 5 crore.

The officials of customs recovered the gold from a luggage during scanning as it (luggage) came on Biman Bangladesh flight from Muscat which landed in Chattogram at 10:00am.
