Train hits human-hauler killing 3 in Sirajganj

At least three people were killed as Dhaka- bound Maitree Express train hit a human hauler on an unguarded level crossing in Koyelgati area of Kamarkhand upazila in the district.

The deceased were identified as Surja Mia, 34, son of Raham Ali of Udaypur village, Rafikul Islam, 35, son of Bishaw Mandal of Pakuria village, Nehar, 37, son of Abdul Hamid of the same village in the upazila.

Officer-in-charge of GRP Police Station Harul Majumdar said the train hit the human hauler when it was passing through the level crossing, leaving one of its passenger dead on the sopt.

Two other passengers died at hospital.
