SC wants female magistrates to record testimonies of rape victims

Female magistrates will record testimonies of female victims of rape and sexual harassment from now on, says the Supreme Court in a circular.

“This is for the sake of fair investigation and trial,” the top court said in the circular issued on Monday.

The court requested the chief judicial magistrates and chief metropolitan magistrates to make necessary arrangements in this regard.
