Russell Sarker gets prosthetic leg

The authorities of Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) have provided an prosthetic leg to Russell Sarkar, who lost his left leg after a bus of  Green Line Paribahan ran him over in April last year.

Mohammad Shafiq, head of CRP's prosthetic and orthotics department, attached an artificial leg to Russell on Thursday morning.

The CRP provided him with a prosthetic leg of Switzerland International Technology, a Bio-artificial Organ Manufacturing company, free of cast, CRP source confirmed.

On April 28, 2018, Russell got his left leg severed from his knee as a bus of Green Line Paribahan ran over him on Mayor Hanif Flyover in the capital.

Earlier, the High Court directed the owner of the Green Line Paribahan to pay TK50,00,000 compensation to him.

Green Line owner Hazi Alauddin handed over a cheque of Tk 5 lakh to Russel before the court on April 11 this year.
