BCL’s full-fledged central committee announced

The full-fledged central committee of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has been declared after one year of it’s council.

The committee comprising 301 members was announced on Monday with the approval of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The two-day long council of ruling Awami League's associate student body Bangladesh Chhatra League was held on May 11, 2018 at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
Later, BCL has announced its new president and general secretary two months after its national council.

The ruling Awami League’s student affiliate named Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon as President and Golam Rabbani General Secretary.

Starting its journey with the fundamentals Education-Peace-Progress on Jan 4 1948, BCL played key roles in language movement in 1952, uprising in 1969, Liberation War in 1971 and anti-dictatorship movement in 1990.

Hasina resigned as organisational head of the student body on April 3, 2009 in the wake of BCL factional clashes and violence on campuses.
