2 killed as truck plunges into ditch in Faridpur

Two workers were killed and five others injured as a truck carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch  at Shibrampur area of Sadar upazila in Faridpur on Saturday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Nurul Alam, Senior Station Officer of Faridpur Fire Service, said the Faridpur-bound lorry coming from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two people dead on the spot.

The injured people were sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, he added.
