In another case of mass beating triggered by rumours, five NGO workers were injured by mob on suspicion of being child-lifters in Rajshahi on Monday noon.

The incident took place at Rawtha village of Charghat upazila of Rajshahi.

The NGO workers are Abdul Kaium, a resident of Lalbagh in Dhaka, Abul Hossain, Hafizur Rahman, Rezaul Karim and Abul Kalam. Except Abul Kalam, all are from Gopalganj district.

The victims identified themselves as workers of Ad-Din Welfare Centre, an NGO.
