ACC catches housing engineer red-handed with bribe

A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) caught an executive engineer of the National Housing Authority (NHA) red-handed while taking bribe in Dinajpur town on Sunday night.

The arrestee is Dinajpur NHA executive engineer Md Delwar Hossain.

NHA land allotment committee directed Dinajpur NHA in a meeting to allot a house in the name of Najmunnahar but she did not get the allotment in the last one and a half years.

Najmunnahar filed a complaint with the ACC against executive engineer Md Delwar Hossain and sub assistant engineer Md Abdul Wadud for harassing her and demanding Tk 150,000 from her to get allotment of the house.

Following the complaint, a team of the ACC, led by Abu Hena Ashiqur Rahman, deputy director of Dinajpur ACC, conducted a drive and caught Delwar Hossain while he was taking Tk 60,000 bribe money from Najmunnahar at his office in the town at 8:30 pm.

A case was filed against Delwar Hossain.
