Former Jamalpur DC Ahmed Kabir, who was made an officer on special duty (OSD) on Sunday, might be fired from his job if allegations brought against him are proved, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said.

He disclosed the information at a press briefing at his secretariat office on Monday.

Ahmed Kabir was made an officer on special duty (OSD) on yesterday following the leakage of a surveillance camera footage, showing him in a compromising situation with a female colleague.

In a notification, the Public Administration Ministry issued the order and said it was effective from the same day.

Later, a five-member probe body, headed by Joint Secretary Mushfiqur Rahman of cabinet division, was formed to investigate the video scandal of Ahmed Kabir. The probe body was asked to submit their report within next 10 working days.

Earlier, a 5-minute video of the DC, which is footage of a CCTV camera, went viral on Thursday night, where he was seen in a compromising situation with a female coworker in his office. However, denying the fact, the DC claimed, the video is stage-managed.
