Three rapists jailed for life in Ctg

A court here today gave life-term imprisonment to three persons for raping a woman.
Judge of Women Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 Mohammad Mothaher Ali pronounced the verdict against Mohammad Sohel, 32, Mohammad Mohiuddin, 28, and Foiz Ahmed.
All of the convicts are the residents of Foteyapur village under Hathazari upazila of the district.
The tribunal also fined them Tk 50,000 each , in default, to suffer six months more in jail.
According to the prosecution, three rogues entered the house of a woman and gang-raped her at gun point in front of her five-year-old child at Foteyapur village under Hathazari upazila of the district on May 17, 2017.
On the next day, husband of the victim filed a case against three persons with Hathazari police station.
Police submitted charge sheet against them on November 17, 2017 while the court framed charges against the trio on October 4, 2018.
