Amit Saha, Toha on five-day remand

Two more students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) were placed on a five-day remand each on Friday in connection with the murder of Abrar Fahad.

The three accused are: Amit Saha, a student of 16th batch of Buet’s civil engineering department; and Hosssain Mohhammad Toha, a student of 17th batch of mechanical engineering department.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the remand order when DB Inspector Wahiduzzaman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the duo before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Buet, died after he was brutally beaten allegedly by some Chhatra League men at dormitory of the university between 7:00pm Sunday and 2:30am Monday.
