Dhaka Residential Model College student electrocuted at Kishor Alo function

A Dhaka Residential Model College student died after being electrocuted from a power generator during a function of Kishor Alo, a magazine of the daily Prothom Alo for juveniles, at the institution on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Nayeemul Abrar, 15, a nonresident student of class nine.

Confirming the news, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station GG Biswas said the organisers took the victim to the Universal Medical College Hospital, formerly Aysha Memorial Specialised Hospital, at Mohakhali, but doctors of the hospital declared Nayeem dead.

Later, police transferred the body to the family without post-mortem examination on their request, Biswas said.
