Three suspended over Brahmanbaria train accident

Authorities of Bangladesh Railway on Tuesday morning suspended two drivers and a guard over the fatal accident in Brahmanbaria that killed at least 16 people and injured more than 100.

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan blamed locomotive master of Turna-Nishitha Express for the fatal Kasba rail accident as he allegedly violated signal.

The minister came up with the statements while addressing to media after visiting the spot at around 10:30 am on Tuesday morning.

He said, “The locomotive master and the assistant master of Turna-Nishitha Express have been suspended immediately. We do not see any fault of Udayan express over the accident.”

Meanwhile, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has announced to provide a financial assistance of Tk 1.25 lakh to the family members of every dead person in Kosba train accident.

The Railways will give Tk one lakh to each family from their part and remaining Tk 25,000 will be arranged by the District Administration.
