New committee of Swechchhasebak League declared

Nirmal Ranjan Guha and Afzalur Rahman Babu have been elected as president and general secretary of Swechchhasebak League, the volunteer wing of the ruling Awami League, respectively.
Ishak Mia and Anisur Rahman Nayeem have made president and general secretary of the organisation’s north city unit while Kamrul Hasan and Tareque Sayeed have been elected as president and general secretary of its south city unit.
AL general secretary Obaidul Quader announced their names after the end of the second session of the council, held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the council of Swechchhasebak League around 11:00 am.
A total of 1,975 councillors and 18,000 delegates joined the council.
