Work on barbed-wire fencing around Rohingya camps starts

Mentioning that barbed-wire fences are going to be erected around the camps of Kutupalong and Nayapara Rohingya, Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed said on Sunday that work has begun to install boundary pillars over there.

"I'm going to Myanmar next month where we're going to discuss issues related to improving relations between the two nations. There will be many problems and we may speak about the problem of Rohingya, but whatever happens, it will be in Bangladesh's interest, "he added.

Since six units were issued with regimental colors at a ceremony held in Ramu Cantonment, the Army Chief spoke to journalists.

Under Ramu Cantonment, 6 Engineer Battalion, 13 and 14 Bangladesh Infantry Regiment, General Aziz Ahmed given the regimental colors for 6, 9 and 27 Regiment Artillery.

"Bangladesh Army plays an important role in tackling natural and manmade disasters, as well as in Bangladesh's socioeconomic and infrastructural development, in addition to protecting the country's sovereignty," the Army Chief said.

The Bangladesh Army is always ready to make the highest sacrifice in order to protect the motherland's integrity and for any national necessity, General Aziz Ahmed said.
