PM leaves for Madrid to attend COP25

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka on Sunday morning to attend the 25th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP25) in Madrid, Spain.
As part of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the world's annual climate summit, COP25, will take place in Madrid, Spain's central capital, on December 2-13.
At 10:15am, a VVIP flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off.
The plane is expected to land at 5:40pm (Spanish time) at Madrid Torrejon Airport, where she will be greeted by Bangladesh's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Hassan Mahmood Khandker World Tourism Organization.
On Monday morning, at the Feria de Madrid (IFEMA), the Prime Minister will address the annual COP25 meeting, his general roundtable called' Public Projects to Raise Ambition by 2020.'
Since attending the formal luncheon, she will again take part in the afternoon's COP25 Working Session–' Enhancing Action Together' –Dialog between Governments and Civil Society.
Sheikh Hasina will meet with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Spanish President Pedro Sánchez on the sidelines of the climate summit.
Sheikh Hasina will attend the dinner later in the evening to be held at the Royal Palace by the King and Queen of Spain.
The Prime Minister will give her speech at the Heads of State and Government Summit on December 2, addressing climate change and the status of Bangladesh, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said at last Wednesday's press conference.
The PM will depart Madrid on Monday morning with a special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. Hassan Mahmood Khandker, Bangladesh's ambassador and permanent representative to the World Tourism Organization, will see her off at the airport.
The plane is expected to land on Wednesday at 12:40 (Bangladesh time) at Dhaka airport.
