Tuesday's High Court denied two suspect bail petitions in a case filed against Rifat Sharif's murder in Bagruna.

Justice Md Habibul Gani's HC bench and Justice Md Badruzzaman dismissed Kamrul Islam Saimun's and Rafiul Rabbi's petitions citing that they had not been pressed.

The state was represented by Deputy Attorney General Yeasmin Bithi.

On November 24, the two defendants lodged bail petitions with the High Court as the lower court dismissed their applications.

Rifat, 22, was hacked by the Barguna Govt College on June 26 last in broad daylight. Surveillance cameras caught the attack.

In the murder case filed by Rifat's father, twenty-four people were charged.

Police pressed charges against 24 people on September 1, separating them into adults and underage.
