Farmer killed in Cox’s Bazar wild elephant attack

A farmer was trampled to death as he was attacked by a wild elephant on Wednesday morning in Cox's Bazar in Alipur area of Harbang union under Chakaria upazila.
The deceased was identified from the upazila area of Paschim Baruapara as Jabindra Barua, son of Guradhan Barua.
Shangkar Barua, the deceased's relative, said Jabindra Barua was attacked by an elephant when he returned home from his paddy field in the area at 5:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
The chairman of Harbang Union Parishad, Miranul Islam Miran, said Jabindra Barua's body was handed over to the family with the consent of the local government.
