Death toll hits to 13

Death toll from the devastating fire at Prime Patent Plastic Limited hit thirteen on Thursday morning with the death of twelve wounded at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), a day after the fire engulfed the factory in Hijoltola, Keraniganj, outside the capital, on Wednesday afternoon.

At DMCH's National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, more than 20 people are receiving critical condition care.

Bachchu Mia, DMCH police outpost inspector said eight people died between Wednesday night and Thursday 9 am at the hospital's burned unit.

Imran, 18, Babul, 32, Alam Hossain, Raihan, 16, Ziarul Islam, Khalek, 32 and Sujon identified the deceased.

The remains were held in the morgue of the hospital.

A deadly fire at a factory in Hijaltola, sparked by a gas cylinder explosion, killed a worker and wounded 32 others. The charred body of Jakir Hossain, 25, was recovered from the factory by firefighters.
