Be alert against corruption:PM

On Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked government officials to remain alert to corruption and bribery as social diseases are spoiling the country's development.

"All must be warn about corruption and bribery that is spoiling our[ development] activities. In this respect, you will have to raise awareness among the public, "she said while addressing the closing ceremony at the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy in the city of the 113th, 114th and 115th Law and Administration Courses.

The Prime Minister told the administration's fresh officials to invest public money properly on the country's planned development.

"I urge you to pay particular attention so that we can financially invest more development[ works] on the public money," she said.

Pointing at field-level administration officials, Sheikh Hasina said he or she could change the outlook of a district, an upazila, or a union by making the progress noticeable there.

"To do this, you will have to have such innovative ideas, plans and opinions," she said.

She also asked the officers of the government to pay particular attention to the ongoing drives against drug, terrorism and corruption.

The Prime Minister handed out certificates to the five-month training courses participants. The three classes were taken by a total of 120 administrative officers.

State Minister of the Ministry of Public Administration Farhad Hossain, Member of the Standing Parliamentary Committee of the Ministry of Public Administration HN Ashequr Rahman and Secretary of Public Administration Faiz Ahmed spoke at the office chaired by Rector of the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy Kazi Rowshan Akhter.
