Housewife ‘gang raped’ in Savar;2 held

Two young men were arrested by police on Thursday in a case filed in the suburbs of the city over the suspected gang rape of a housewife in Savar.

The arrested was named as 19-year-old Shimul and 18-year-old Jewel.

Zakaria Hossain, Savar Model Police Station's officer-in-charge, said the survivor lodged a morning complaint against the couple. They were later arrested by police from the city.

Shimul picked up the housewife when she came home at night, according to the case statement. The couple then assaulted and raped the woman to kill her.
 

Police sent the survivor to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital's one-stop crisis center.
