During the two Dhaka city elections, scheduled to take place on January 30, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said the Election Commission decided to send members of the army to polling centers.

Having revealed election schedules to the DSCC and DNCC at a media briefing on Sunday at the Nirbachan Bhaban media center in the capital, he came up with the details while talking to reporters.

The CSE said, "Bangladesh Army is not going to be deployed during the elections of the Dhaka city corporations. Police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) leaders will carry out election duties.

Yet two army leaders will be present at each polling center to conduct Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) voting. "Nurul Huda declared polling schedules to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) earlier that day.

The two Dhaka City corporations elections are scheduled to take place on January 30.

The deadline for sending nomination paper is December 31 as per the timetable, while the date for scrutinizing nomination papers is January 2 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination paper is January 9.

Election symbol distribution will take place on January 10.

The CEC said that on January 30 without any delay, the ballots would be cast by electronic voting machines (EVMs) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
