Former CJ Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury dies

Former Chief Justice Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury died at age 85 at his Dhanmondi home on Sunday night as a result of old-age complications.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held on the grounds of the Supreme Court on Monday (tomorrow) at 10:30 a.m., his niece Madrur Hasan said.

After Fazr prayers, he said, the first namaz-e-janaza will take place at the Dhanmondi Taqwa Mosque.

Justice Mahmudul Amin's body would be buried in his home town of Sylhet in the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal.

Mahmudul Amin Choudhury was a judge who served as Bangladesh's 11th Chief Justice. He was the judge at the murder trial of Shazneen Tasnim Rahman.
