Hindustan Times reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at an event to kick-start the centenary celebrations for "Bangabandhu" Sheikh Mujibur Rehman in Dhaka on March 17 in a move that signals robust bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh.

Modi is expected to arrive in Dhaka the day before the function, and will be the keynote speaker for the 100th anniversary of the nation's father and founder of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. Bangabandhu was Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's father, as well.

During the term of Hasina, India and the Government of Bangladesh are taking strong steps against pan-Islamic terrorists and radical groups such as the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.

At the border both countries collaborate closely with annual meetings and daily exchanges of information between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh(BGB).
