Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the root of all inspiration to all entrepreneurs

Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Chairman of Bashundhara Group, the leading business conglomerate of the country, on Saturday termed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the root of all inspiration to all entrepreneurs.

Bashundhara Group (BG) Chairman also mentioned that Bangladesh would have got present position twenty-five years ago if it had Bangabandhu today.

He made these observations while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Bashundhara Bitumen Plant at Pangaon in Keraniganj this noon.

The programme was graced by the presence of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal as the chief guest while Nasrul Hamid, state minister for Power, Energy and mineral resources ministry attended the programme as the special guest.

Among others, Bashundhara Group Co-Chairman Sadat Sobhan, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir and Bashundhara Group Managing Director’s son Walid Sobhan were present there.

In his speech, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said Bangladesh was once called the ‘bottomless basket’, but today the whole world is looking at Bangladesh.

He also said Bangladesh is advancing towards the developed country today under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She is working heart and soul to fulfill her father’s dream—Sonar Bangla.

All businessmen, industrialists, entrepreneurs have been doing good business during the tenure of Sheikh Hasina-led present government as there was no hartal, destructive activities in the country. Now investors are considering Bangladesh as a suitable place for doing business due to the stable political situation, different kinds of facilities like safety, uninterruptable electricity and well transporting system provided by the state.

Praising prime minister’s fondness of sports, Bashundhara Group boss also said that 99 percent contribution of Sheikh Hasina behind the achievements that Bangladesh enjoying now in cricket.
“She maintains close monitoring on every cricketer. She phoned them and quizzed their whereabouts. She even asked cricketers to lose weight if anyone was noticed weight gain,” he added.

“It was her inspirations that helped young tigers to clinch ICC U-19 World Cup this year,” BG chairman said.

The premier, at a meeting with all REHAB members, urged to help in sporting sector, he said.
