The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has submitted the report on the steps taken by the government to contain an outbreak of coronavirus in the country to High Court.

Deputy Attorney General ABM Abdullah-Al Mahmud Bashar placed the report to the HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader on Monday morning.

Earlier on March 5, the court on a suo moto move asked the DG of DGHS to say whether the government has provided adequate equipment to prevent a coronavirus outbreak and test people for it at the ports in the country.

The DG has also been asked to inform the court on whether the government has taken steps to spread awareness among people on the virus.

Advocate Ishrat Hasan, a lawyer of the Supreme Court, placed the newspaper report before the HC bench for necessary order.
