Natore UP chairman arrested for beating up farmer

Police arrested the chairman of the union parishad, who beat a farmer in Lalpur upazila Natore on Friday for calling the government hotline number 333 for information and support.
Abdus Sattar, the chairman of the Arjanpur-Baramhati union, was arrested by law enforcers on Friday morning, Lalpur police station officer-in-charge said.
According to local sources, Angaripara village farmer Shahidul Islam called for food assistance to 333 last Friday as some 300 farmers like him have no job right now amid the nationwide shutdown.
